Carbonaxion Bioénergies is awarded the combined financial support of nearly $350,000 from the provincial and federal governments to study an innovative clean energy project in Portneuf, Quebec, one of the first of its kind in Canada
July 3, 2024
These amounts will go towards the feasibility study of a project aimed at producing 3rd generation renewable natural gas (3G RNG). The 3G RNG will be obtained by combining biogenic CO2 from a landfill site with green hydrogen (H2), using innovative biocatalytic methanation technology developed by the German firm Electrochaea GmbH. To carry out this study, Carbonaxion will be working with two strategic partners: Electrochaea and Énergir Development Inc.

March 21, 2024
Our President, Rejean Carrier, took part in the “Gasification 2024” conference held in Ghent, Belgium, on March 20 and 21. This initiative is part of Carbonaxion Bioénergies' development of a gasification project that produces RNG (renewable natural gas) using residual forest biomass.

Awarded 200,000 $ in funding to evaluate an automated monitoring system for biogas recovery at a landfill site
September 11, 2023
Carbonaxion Bioénergies, which has been working to reduce GHG emissions for several years, is proud to lead one of five Canadian projects to receive funding from Environment and Climate Change Canada (press release). The program aims to reduce fugitive methane emissions from landfill sites.
Accordingly, the project, set up by Carbonaxion, will seek to demonstrate that the amount of methane recovered can be maximized through the use of state-of-the-art valve automation technologies in the biogas collection network. This study will be carried out in close collaboration with the Régie régionale de gestion des matières résiduelles de Portneuf, which operates the Neuville Environmental Complex.
